With the wind behind us, we headed towards Antiparos and anchored in Mafalda Bay, south of Despotiko. The uninhabited bay’s turquoise-green water was cold but beautifully clear. We swam, slept and sunbathed: a true holiday day.
Late in the afternoon we explored by dinghy and trawled a line. Once the day boats had left, the bay belonged to us alone. We rocked gently with red wine, a magnificent moon and Queen playing—and at last I caught two large fish.
