After completing departure formalities, we headed once more for Pserimos, an island we had grown fond of. Before leaving Pothia we remembered to buy natural sponges. Sponges are not plants but simple animals that filter seawater; the sponge we use is the skeleton left after the living layer is removed.
We reached Turgutreis at around 4.00 pm. After a wavy passage and a quick passport check, we tied stern-to at our familiar spot off Bitez.
Fishing with Derin began immediately. She caught fish one after another, but we found a reason to release every one. The evening brought a wonderful meal, okey and Americano. We fell asleep waiting for the Perseid meteor shower; despite waking repeatedly through the night, I saw nothing.
