Chorio and Haritomeni

Monday

Monday

Work began early in the morning. Large boats arrived and boxed us in on all four sides.

We relied on our feet and climbed to the church at the very top. The narrow paths rise like goat tracks, sometimes steps and sometimes ramps. The houses are colourful, with terraces and small gardens, yet every window sees the sea. Their colours are dazzling. It is quiet. The view from above is wonderful.

At noon, we went to Paradise Beach to sunbathe and swim. Another lazy day. Then we returned to the boat for the Bulgaria–Türkiye women’s volleyball match. Fortunately, we won comfortably.

Then Derin and I played bezique and backgammon; I beat her at bezique, and she beat me at backgammon.

In the evening, we ate at Haritomeni, a little way up the hill. It is difficult to climb to, but the view is wonderful. The new moon rose in front of me. I ate goat again, and it was very good.

The evening was hot and noisy outside, so we went to bed early.
