The sea in Kocabahçe Harbour was warm, and the bay was not overly crowded. The pufferfish, by now regular companions on the journey, were still around.
My mother was the champion of the day: she caught two parrotfish and a scorpionfish. In the evening we had an excellent meal at Sailors Paradise Restaurant. A full moon rose over the bay and lit the final night. After so many attempts at fishing, her catch gave the day a cheerful conclusion, while the calm anchorage, the shared table and the moonlight gathered the journey’s recurring pleasures into one last evening.
