To Rhodes via Symi

We set off from Dalyan at 07.00 in the morning and from Bozburun at 13.30. We are in Simi at 14.30. The weather is very hot; Simi, on the other hand, is cute, colorful and charming as always.

We set off from Dalyan at 07.00 in the morning and from Bozburun at 13.30. We are in Simi at 14.30. The weather is very hot; Simi, on the other hand, is cute, colorful and charming as always.

We have our first meal of the day at Liros, accompanied by Simi shrimp, saganaki cheese, Greek salad, kippers and ouzo. Maybe everything tastes better because we are on the road.

Ogun is already in Rhodes. We leave Simi at 16.00 so as not to keep her waiting any longer. The sea is beating us up a lot; we arrive in Rhodes around 19.30 among the waves. Two years later, we are again on the island of Helios, the sun god.

We are not allowed into Mandraki Port this time either. We move to our narrow but safe place in the new port. Ogun joins us after his adventurous journey. While waiting for us, he had already walked ten thousand steps in Rhodes.

The city is very crowded; Unlike Çeşme, this place is full of tourists. It's like the whole of Northern Europe is here. When we couldn't find a seat at the restaurants we wanted, we had a moderate meal at a local tavern. Turkish is now heard as much as English. It seems like the Turks have already conquered the islands, if not officially, then with their holiday habits.

This holiday is the holiday of four friends who met at the age of 13, went to the same school, played in the same neighborhood and have witnessed each other's lives for 43 years. Even though life takes us on different paths, our paths cross again this week. My only wish is to have a holiday where I can be myself.

Fortunately, the music playing until late at night does not reach the cabins.
