The holiday has come. A nice breakfast at Demo in Barranco. After 1850, Barranco became a region where the rich had mansions, swimming and summer residences. Now it's a place with galleries and restaurants like Central.
Walking in nice weather is wonderful. Grid planned streets, tropical trees, clean smell, downhill parks... A new discovery in every street.
Then, we try to understand Peruvian art by visiting the Lima Museum of Contemporary Art and Dédalo Art Gallery.
At 18.30, we visit Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca sacred site. A pre-Inca temple and ceremonial site within the city. As we walk around, people in the restaurant next to us stare at us. This hilly area, where excavation and restoration work began in the 1980s, remained a place where motorcyclists rode for a long time.
The most interesting part is the brick construction, which resembles a bookshelf. The bricks are made of clay with seashells mixed into them. This type of structure made the buildings resistant to earthquakes.
This area was used for votive ceremonies, administration and meeting areas.
Dinner is at Mayta. It is surprising to see that the walls of Mayta, which is among the top 50 restaurants, are inspired by the same brick structure. Mayta's cuisine is inspired by the Amazons. It was delicious and satisfying, reflecting twenty years of experience.
